Note: Faculty titles refer to titles in effect at the time of serving as Mobile Learning Fellows.
Department Head, Psychology, Sociology and Social Work and Associate Professor of Psychology
In addition to a stipend to reward their work, the Mobile Fellows are supported as they present the results of their work at conferences, conduct workshops, travel to other campuses, and serve as a resource to WSCC faculty interested in the pedagogy of mobile learning. A total of up to $500.00 from all sources has been budgeted to support the current Mobile Learning Fellows during the academic year of their fellowship.
Mobile Learning Fellows should document the classroom activities and mobile learning with pictures and videos that are examples of mobile learning. A good standard practice is to have all students in classes that will use mobile learning activities complete the Apple Model Release Form and the WSCC Talent Release Form. Administer to students and send signed forms to Vickie Mills, Instructional Design Department.
The Mobile Learning Fellows program (opens in a new window) encourages faculty to explore methods of engaging students and increasing active student involvement using mobile devices and emerging technologies. Faculty interested in becoming a WSCC Mobile Fellow submit a Mobile Learning Fellows Proposal (opens in a new window). The proposals are evaluated using the Criteria for Analysis for Proposals (opens in a new window) by members of the Academic Mobile Learning Subcommittee. Two exemplary proposals are selected each year. After the proposals are selected, the Mobile Fellows carry out the plan indicated in their proposal during the following academic year. The Academic Mobile Learning Subcommittee proudly congratulates the faculty selected for the Fellows program.
